LINDSTROM, CABERNET SAUVIGNON (2012)

DESCRIPTION:Classically Stags Leap District in character, this fully ripe Cabernet shows bright cherry and mocha tones in abundance on the aromas. Open and expressive immediately upon pulling the cork, this wine will develop more nuanced dark tones of sandalwood, almond and warm raspberries with time in the glass. On the palate, the wine is bright with fresh fruit flavors. Fine-grained tannins create a sense of elegance and finesse at entry and throughout the palate profile. The finish is again bright with essence of red fruits, combined with just a touch of toasty oak.
CRITICS:
Wine Spectator - "There's a lot to like here, from the initial drive of earth- and graphite-laced blueberry, cassis and dried berry flavors to the touches of cedary oak and crushed rock minerality. A long version, with gripping tannins. Drink now through 2027. "POINTS-93
The Wine Advocate: - "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon offers attractive sweet cassis and tobacco leaf aromas intermixed with notions of licorice and loamy soil. Sexy, medium to full-bodied, opulent and pure, it can be drunk now or cellared for another 15-20 years."POINTS-92
Antonio Galloni: - "Lindstrom's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District is a powerful, intense wine. Scorched earth, smoke, tobacco, licorice and plums are all laced together nicely in this soft, plush Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark spices, menthol and leather add nuance on the finish. There may be just a little too much new oak for the wine's mid-weight structure, but then again, the 2012 was just bottled. POINTS-91
