DOMAINE DU PEGAU CHATEAUNEUF-Du-PAPE CUVEE LAURENCE 2012

DESCRIPTION: Domaine du Pegau is an estate bottler of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, owned by Paul Feraud and his daughter Laurence. Recognized as one of the top estates in Chateauneuf, its wines are considered among the world’s greatest. Though supply is far outweighed by demand, prices remain reasonable for those able to seek out and purchase these wines.

Wine Spectator 96 points - A throwback style and proud of it, with warm chestnut and bay leaf notes taking the lead, followed quickly by worn leather and smoldering tobacco accents. The core of dark currant, warmed cherry and mulled blackberry lies in reserve for now, while the finish lets singed iron and brick dust details hold sway. Just wait for everything to pull together in the cellar. Best from 2020 through 2032. From France.-J.M..November/2016
